Nestled in the heart of the enchanting Highland village of Blair Atholl, this magnificent castle was my first stop on a quest to uncover Scotland’s most beautiful wedding venues. As I stood before its majestic façade, with the rolling hills of Pitlochry providing a breathtaking backdrop, I knew my heart had been stolen.

Walking through its opulent rooms, you can almost hear the whispers of the past. The grandiose State Dining Room, with its elaborate plasterwork ceiling and walls adorned with portraits of nobility, speaks of countless banquets and gatherings. The Ballroom, added in the Victorian era, dazzles with 175 pairs of antlers decorating its walls, a testament to the castle’s connection with nature and hunting.

Her insights into the castle’s history and its day-to-day operations were invaluable. What made her guidance even more special was learning that Emma actually grew up at the castle and now works there, bringing a personal touch and deep-rooted passion to her role. Her stories and enthusiasm brought Blair Castle to life in a way that only someone with her unique background could.

Weddings at Blair Castle: Where Dreams Come True

Blair Castle offers a range of stunning venues that promise to make your wedding day unforgettable. Envision your  guest being met by  the sound of bagpipes as they enter the drive. .Imagine your ceremony in the grand Ballroom, designed by David Bryce and completed in 1876, with space for up to 300 guests and dining for 60 to 220. Its secret door and elegant reception area add a touch of intrigue and charm.

For a more intimate setting, the State Dining Room on the first floor can host up to 75 guests for a ceremony or 60 for a wedding breakfast, providing a warm and regal ambiance.

Accommodations

Outdoors, the West Lawn and Hercules Garden offer breathtaking Highland views. With a landscaped pond,  and an orchard of over 100 fruit trees, this 9-acre garden can host up to 160 guests for a ceremony and drinks reception, creating a magical backdrop for your wedding photos.

Blair Castle also ensures your guests have a comfortable stay with a variety of accommodations, including Clachan Farmhouse and Cottage, Kindrochet Lodge, Old Blair Forest Lodge, and Tulliemet House. The Clachan Barn is perfect for intimate weddings of up to 30 people, while the farmhouse and cottage can sleep 12, and the lodge can accommodate 16 guests.
